    Every website gets name.prohostiva.com as soon as it's online, with HTTPS. Choose the name when you create the site, or we suggest one from its name. It keeps working after you add your own domain.

    Connect a domain you already own, from any provider: yourbusiness.com, www.yourbusiness.com or shop.yourbusiness.com. Point one or several at the same website.

    Add the domain

    Type it in your dashboard and choose the website it should show.

  2. Records02

    Copy two DNS records

    We show the exact records to add at your domain provider: one to prove the domain is yours, one to point it at your site.

  3. Verify03

    Check them

    Press Verify DNS. If a record isn't visible yet, we tell you which one; new records can take from minutes up to 48 hours.

  4. HTTPS04

    Secure and live

    Once both records check out, your domain serves your site and its certificate is issued and renewed for you.

03 / Records

Why two records.

Pointing a domain at us isn't proof you own it: a domain someone forgot to update could be claimed by anyone. The TXT record makes sure only you can connect yours.

TXT · ownership
_prohostiva.yourdomain.com with a value unique to your domain. It proves you control the domain's DNS.
A · routing
yourdomain.com to the address of the server your website runs on.
CNAME · option
For a subdomain such as www, point it at your site's ProHostiva address instead. It follows your site if it ever moves server.
04 / Good to know

Domains, in detail.

  • We don't sell or register domains. Buy yours from any registrar and connect it here.
  • Add each hostname you want to work: yourdomain.com and www.yourdomain.com are two domains.
  • Wildcard domains (*.yourdomain.com) aren't supported.
  • Once a domain is verified it stays verified, so a brief DNS hiccup won't take your site offline.
  • You can move a domain to another of your websites, or remove it, from your dashboard.
